Celebrity boxing matches have become a new trend in the sport over recent years. From social media influencers to athletes, well-known names have started to take their shot in the ring. A recent report from TMZ Sports suggests two former All-Pro running backs could be the next to duke it out.

The released exclusive from today says that Adrian Peterson will fight Le’Veon Bell next month at Crypto.com Arena. The fight would be a part of YouTuber Austin McBroom’s Social Gloves event. The report has yet to be confirmed yet but it appears negotiations are heading in that direction. Other names on the card include former NBA player Nick Young and rapper Blueface.

Peterson was drafted seventh overall in 2007 by the Minnesota Vikings after a career at Oklahoma. He played in the NFL as recently as last season with the Tennessee Titans and Seattle Seahawks. The former MVP has totaled 17,392 yards from scrimmages during his career. He totaled 126 touchdowns as well during his 15 seasons with seven teams.

Meanwhile, Bell is the one who has been interested in pursuing a boxing career post-football. Bell was drafted 48th overall out of Michigan State by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2013. He also made rosters as recently as last season with both Baltimore and Tampa Bay. A three time Pro Bowler, Bell totaled 9,843 scrimmage yards and 51 total touchdowns with five teams.

Although both backs played last season, it appears both are ready to pick up a new professional sport. Who would come out on top of the reported bout, though, is an interesting conversation to have. Regardless, both former NFL stars are on their way to being the latest celebrities to try on their luck with the gloves on.
