Report indicates Tom Brady’s involvement in upcoming Las Vegas Raiders coaching search
Tom Brady could be the deciding factor on who becomes the new coach of the Las Vegas Raiders. According to Dianna Russini of The Athletic, Brady, a Raiders minority owner, will have “a lot” of influence in who is hired as the next Raiders head coach.
“It will be interesting to see how much influence Tom Brady will have in this next Raiders coaching search,” Russini wrote on X. “I’m told it will be a lot.”
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Brady is expected to be part of a “collaborative committee” to interview head coaching candidates. This all comes after the team announced they have parted ways with head coach Antonio Pierce after hiring him for the position following the end of the 2023 season.
“The Las Vegas Raiders have relieved Antonio Pierce of his duties as head coach,” the team said in a statement. “We appreciate Antonio’s leadership, first as an interim head coach and this past season as the head coach. Antonio grew up a Raiders fan and his Silver and Black roots run deep. We are grateful for his ability to reignite what it means to be a Raider throughout the entire organization. We wish nothing but the best for Antonio and his family in the future.”

Pierce was named interim head coach midway through the 2023 season after the Raiders fired Josh McDaniels. In nine games last year, Pierce led the Raiders to a 5-4 record, and the team finished second in the AFC West. The 2024 season was not as successful as Las Vegas finished with a 4-13 record and last in the division.
Brady officially became a Raiders minority owner in October, purchasing a five percent stake in the team. “I’m incredibly humbled and excited to have been unanimously approved as an owner of the Las Vegas Raiders,” Brady said at the time. “Throughout my NFL career, I’ve learned that at its core, football is a game of teamwork, resilience, and a relentless pursuit of excellence. The Raiders franchise, and the city of Las Vegas embody these same values, and I’m honored to become part of that story.
“Football has been part of my entire life growing up in the Bay Area and in so many ways, my football life and journey has come full circle. I love the sport, I love my teammates, coaches, and the fans in every organization I’ve been part of. Sports brings us together in a way nothing else can. I grew up on the field, and it’s a blessing to know I’ll be involved in the greatest league in the world for the rest of my life.
