Report: Kansas City Chiefs re-sign JuJu Smith-Schuster to one-year deal

The Kansas City Chiefs are re-signing receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster, according to NFL insider Jordan Schultz. It was reported by Tom Pelissero to be a one-year deal.
Smith-Schuster spent the 2024 season with the Chiefs and had 18 catches for 231 yards and two touchdowns. The Chiefs made it to the Super Bowl but fell short of a third straight title against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Smith-Schuster also played for Kansas City during the 2022 season, winning a Super Bowl. He caught 78 passes for 933 yards and three touchdowns that year.
JuJu Smith-Schuster spent the first five seasons of his pro career with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He has only topped the 1,000-yard mark once in his career during the 2018 season as he finished with 1,426 yards and seven touchdowns.
He’ll return now for his ninth overall NFL season and his third with the Chiefs. Smith-Schuster should remain a weapon for Patrick Mahomes as Kansas City looks to bounce back from this past season’s Super Bowl loss.

Worthy was arrested last week and faced charges of assault against a family or household member by impeding their breathing circulation. His lawyers quickly spoke out about the allegations, calling them “baseless” in a statement on his behalf. The charges were later labeled as “dismissed/declined,” meaning Worthy wouldn’t be charged at this time.
In a statement Wednesday, lawyers for Worthy’s fiancee Tia Jones said she filed for a temporary protective order against him. The statement said the judge granted the order.
“Today, Tia Jones filed an application for a protective order against Xavier Worthy, based [on] his violent actions against her culminating on the night of March 7, 2025,” the statement read. “Based upon the truthful information provided by Mr. Jones, a judge has granted a temporary protective order on her behalf. She is fully cooperating with law enforcement as they continue to actively investigate the violence that occurred that night.
“Ms. Jones has chosen to use her voice to speak up for herself. In so doing, she looks forward to the facts and circumstances of that night coming to light through the formal legal process, and getting the justice that she deserves. She appreciates the support that she has received thus far.”
