Report: Los Angeles Rams make a surprise decision on wide receiver Robert Woods

The Los Angeles Rams are shipping out starting wide receiver Robert Woods to the Tennessee Titans. The news of this trade comes shortly after the Rams and quarterback Matthew Stafford agreed to a substantial contract extension earlier on Saturday.

Tennessee finds themselves in search of another top wide receiver after releasing former All-Pro Julio Jones earlier in the month. The good news for the Titans is Woods is an exceptional Y receiver who can impact the game on different levels. The bad news is he’s coming back from an ACL injury that cut short his 2022 season.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Titans are sending a sixth-round pick to the Rams for Woods.

Woods sustained a torn ACL midway through the season in early November. In his first season with quarterback Matt Stafford, Woods was enjoying a productive year. In nine games, the former USC star caught 45 passes — accumulating 556 yards and four touchdowns.

Stafford gets extended by Rams

The Los Angeles Rams have agreed to a contract extension with Super Bowl-winning quarterback Matthew Stafford. In an NFL offseason where teams have been scrambling to find their franchise quarterback or hashing out deals to keep theirs, the Rams have worked out a deal to keep Stafford on Los Angeles for years to come.

Los Angeles received instant gratification for their offseason trade of last year starter Jared Goff and draft compensation for the former Bulldog. Stafford not only helped lead the team to their second Super Bowl appearance in the last five years but helped them win it. And now Stafford is being handsomely rewarded for his efforts. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, his new deal extends him out another four years and comes with a handsome bump in pay.

” Rams and Matthew Stafford finalized a four-year, $160 million extension that includes $135 million guaranteed that should allow the veteran QB to finish his career in Los Angeles, sources tell ESPN,” wrote Schefter via Twitter.
