Report: Mike Golic Sr. to team up with son on daily morning sports show on DraftKings Network
The Golic Family is about to make its way to the DraftKings Network. According to The Athletic‘s Richard Deitsch, Mike Golic Sr. and his son, Mike Golic Jr., are teaming up for a daily sports talk show.
Beginning Monday, Aug. 28, the father-son duo will team up for a show that runs every weekday morning from 8 a.m. – 10 a.m ET.
“Me and Dad talked about this for a while. What if we gave this a real shot again? It seemed like people enjoyed it before,” Golic Jr. told Deitsch. “It did not end on our terms with our show last time around, so we sort of get a chance to go out here and write the ending however we see fit.”
“They (DraftKings) said, ‘Well, if you want to do this, we think the natural thing is to put you and your son back together,” the older Golic said. “As long as I did a show at ESPN, from Tony Bruno to Greeny (Mike Greenberg) to Wingo, the most fun I had was doing it with one of my kids. So this was a no-brainer.”
Both Golics spent time at ESPN. Golic Sr. was a co-host of the network’s Mike & Mike in the Morning on ESPN Radio. His run with Mike Greenberg concluded in 2017, when Trey Wingo stepped in.

The younger Golic worked as a college football analyst and also filled slots as a radio host at times. He left ESPN in 2022.
Per the report, the show will stream on DraftKings Network, Samsung TV Plus and will be available in a podcast.
Mike Golic Sr. has something to prove?
As he prepares for this new venture with his son, Mike Golic Sr. does have a chip on his shoulder. He wasn’t overly thrilled with how his time at ESPN came to an end. Now, he has something to prove.
“I didn’t want Mike and Mike to end, and then it ended, but it wasn’t my choice,” said Golic. “I didn’t want to be done at ESPN, but again, it wasn’t my choice. So at some point, you have to realize, ‘Well, I can’t do anything about it.’ But that pride thing in that world where you say, ‘Okay, I want to show you that was a mistake.’ Whether it ends up being true or not, I have no idea.”
We’ll see how the new show works out on DraftKings Network.
