According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, safety Isaac Gifford has signed with the Carolina Panthers as an undrafted free agent. Gifford spent his college days in Lincoln with the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Now, he heads out East to begin his professional career with the Panthers.

“Former Nebraska safety Isaac Gifford — younger brother of #49ers LB Luke Gifford — is signing with the #Panthers, per source,” Pelissero said via X.

Gifford played high school football at Lincoln (NE) Lincoln Southeast, where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 1,192 overall recruit in the 2020 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Five years were spent in school, although a redshirt was never taken. Gifford being in college football during the 2020 season meant COVID-19 earned him an extra year of eligibility. Nebraska certainly was not complaining as a top defensive player stayed inside the program.

During the 2024 campaign, Gifford played in 13 games. He recorded 73 tackles and four tackles for a loss. His entire career may have lasted five years but the final three are when he really made an impact for the Huskers.

“For me, growing up in Nebraska, family is very big to us,” Gifford said heading into the 2024 season. “So, for Coach Rhule to preach that at Nebraska is big and it fits right in with who we are as Nebraskans and who we are as a state, and I think that’s why we don’t have that high turnover rate that you’re talking about and that’s happening all over college football is that guys like it here. They like the family atmosphere. They can all get on the train of what we want to do.”

Nebraska wide receiver signs as UDFA with Baltimore Ravens

According to KPRC2’s Aaron Wilson, the Baltimore Ravens have signed wide receiver Jahmal Banks as an undrafted free agent. Banks finished up his college football days with the Nebraska Cornhuskers. After not hearing his name called at the 2025 NFL Draft, Banks now gets a chance to start his professional career.

Nebraska was thankful to have Banks on its team throughout the season. He caught 44 passes for 587 yards and three touchdowns. Two of the scores came during Big Ten play, getting into the end zone against Purdue and Wisconsin.
