According to KPRC2’s Aaron Wilson, the Baltimore Ravens have signed wide receiver Jahmal Banks as an undrafted free agent. Banks finished up his college football days with the Nebraska Cornhuskers. After not hearing his name called at the 2025 NFL Draft, Banks now gets a chance to start his professional career.

Banks wound up spending just one season in Lincoln throughout his five-year career. Wake Forest is where he signed coming out of high school before entering the NCAA transfer portal. During his tenure with the Demon Deacons, banks went for 1,404 yards and 13 touchdowns on 107 receptions.

Nebraska was thankful to have Banks on its team throughout the season. He caught 44 passes for 587 yards and three touchdowns. Two of the scores came during Big Ten play, getting into the end zone against Purdue and Wisconsin.

Not many spoke higher of Banks than Nebraska head coach Matt Rhule. It’s a program still going through a transition of culture and being a one-year guy can make it difficult to make an impact. But when Banks’ time was up, Rhule was incredibly complimentary.

“Jahmal is another one of those guys, man, he’s out there every day at practice,” Rhule said after Nebraska’s bowl win vs. Boston College. “He’s a leader. He’s made that room better,” Rhule said. “If you’re in that room with him, you can’t say you don’t know what it looks like because he’s made that room better. He does everything right. It was a big catch for him. He played really well, won on a slant versus man, won on a go ball versus man, made a great one-handed catch. That got us going. Appreciate him very much.”

Banks will now turn his attention to getting things going with the Baltimore Ravens. Wide receiver has been a position of need within the franchise for a few years. Quarterback Lamar Jackson has not been able to find a consistent No. 1.

Nobody in Baltimore will be expecting Banks to come into the building and compete for that kind of spot. However, finding somebody who can contribute is always the goal of signing undrafted free agents. Banks should find himself in a quality situation after going through three days and seven rounds without being picked by an NFL team.
