Report: New Orleans Saints trade CB Marshon Lattimore to Washington Commanders
The New Orleans Saints are trading Pro Bowl CB Marshon Lattimore to the Washington Commanders, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
“Trade: New Orleans is sending four-time Pro-Bowl CB Marshon Lattimore to the Washington Commanders, per sources,” Schefter wrote on Twitter. “Saints had multiple teams interested in the 28-year-old CB who still is recovering from a hamstring injury. Commanders’ push is on.”
In seven games this season, Lattimore has 30 tackles and two pass deflections. Over the course of his eight-year career, all with the Saints, Lattimore has 405 total tackles, seven tackles for loss, 15 interceptions, 88 pass deflections, five forced fumbles and five fumble recoveries. He also has two defensive touchdowns.
Lattimore was the No. 11 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft out of Ohio State and was NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year that season. He is a four-time Pro Bowler.
Lattimore also won a College Football Playoff national championship with the Buckeyes in 2014 and was First-Team All-Big Ten in 2016.

With Lattimore on the move, the 7-2 Commanders are going all in on the 2024 season. They lead the NFC East by 0.5 games over the Philadelphia Eagles (6-2) and have the second-best record in the NFC behind the Detroit Lions (7-1).
A big part of that is rookie QB Jayden Daniels, who received a raucous ovation at the Washington Wizards game Monday.

Daniels has put together a strong rookie season, completing 71.5 percent of his passes for 1,945 yards, nine touchdowns and two interceptions with a 106.7 passer rating.
The former LSU Tigers star is also dangerous on the run as he rushed for 459 yards and four touchdowns on 82 carries. Daniels’ production has helped the Commanders have a 7-2 record through the first nine games of the year.
After the game against the New York Giants on Sunday, Daniels spoke to reporters about how he is still learning and growing as a rookie. “I think just little nuances,” he said, per the Commanders’ official website. “Obviously, I face different coordinators every game.
“So, they’re still trying to get to know me. I’m still trying to learn how they, how teams might try to play me. Every team is different. Every team has a different scheme, different talent, different players. So just still trying to go through that whole year of, ‘Okay, this coordinator might try to play me this way,’ and go from there.”
