The NFL has launched an investigation after tight end Tyler Warren reportedly received a prank call during the 2025 draft, according to Jordan Schultz of FOX Sports. The Penn State product was taken 14th overall by the Indianapolis Colts.

Warren was not the only player to receive a prank call during the draft, as former Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders also got one. Sanders slipped all the way to the fifth round after being projected as a potential first-round pick. His prank caller was determined to be Jax Ulbrich, the son of Atlanta Falcons defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich. Jax later issued an apology to Sanders.

Warren, another potential Top 10 pick who some NFL pundits had mocked to go to the New York Jets at No. 7 overall, reportedly received his prank call when the Jets were on the clock. However, the Jets selected former Missouri offensive tackle Armand Membou at No. 7.

Schultz initially reported that Warren’s camp believed that the call he received was “the same number and/or area code” involved in the Sanders prank call. Sanders was infamously pranked during Day 2 of the draft by two college-aged men on Friday evening. Video of the prank was released Saturday, showing a young man wearing an Ole Miss sweater impersonating New Orleans Saints general manager Mickey Loomis.

Although Jax Ulbrich admitted to prank calling Sanders, he has not stated whether the call to Warren was also him. Perhaps the investigation from the league will provide answers as to whether that is the case.

Jax Ulbrich, son of Falcons DC Jeff Ulbrich, issues apology to Shedeur Sanders for viral prank call

Jax Ulbrich, the son of Atlanta Falcons defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich, released a statement on social media apologizing for prank calling Shedeur Sanders during Day 2 of the 2025 NFL Draft on Friday. Jax Ulbrich called the Colorado quarterback and pretended to be New Orleans Saints general manager Mickey Loomis.

“On Friday night I made a tremendous mistake,” he wrote on Instagram. “Shedeur, what I did was completely inexcusable, embarrassing, and shameful. I’m so sorry I took away from your moment, it was selfish and childish. I could never imagine getting ready to celebrate one of the greatest moments of your life and I made a terrible mistake and messed with that moment. Thank you for accepting my call earlier today, I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me.”
