Report: Oklahoma City Thunder trading Lindy Waters II to the Golden State Warriors
After three seasons in Oklahoma City, Lindy Waters II is now part of a deal amidst the 2024 NBA Draft.
Per Shams Charania, the Thunder have traded Waters to Golden State. In return, the Warriors will send the 52nd pick in the second round of this year’s draft to OKC.
Waters started on a two-way deal for Oklahoma City before eventually earning his own standard contract. In total, he made 104 appearances with the franchise with one of those being a start as a rookie.
During his three-year pro career there in the NBA, Waters has averaged 5.3 points and 1.8 rebounds. However, his numbers have declined in each season as he has gone from eight points and 2.9 rebounds in ’21-’22 all the way down to 3.6 points and 1.1 rebounds this past season.
Waters also appeared in 39 games for the team’s G-League affiliate in the Oklahoma City Blue.
Waters went professional after four seasons in college at Oklahoma State. He played in 121 games for the Cowboys with 105 of those being starts. While with the ‘Pokes, he averaged 9.5 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and a steal.
Oklahoma City adds and stockpiles draft capital like few other teams in the association. They’ve now done it again with this deal with Waters in exchange for No. 52 this afternoon.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Griffin will be traded for the No. 44 pick in the NBA Draft.
After making considerable contributions for the Hawks in ’22-’23, Griffin had far less of an impact this year due to injury. He played in just 20 games for the Hawks in ’23-’24 while also spending some time with the College Park Skyhawks as he tried to regain his form. He was hurt again in mid-March.
Griffin averaged 8.9 points and 2.1 rebounds in his rookie season for the Hawks, playing in 72 games with 12 starts.
During his lone season at Duke, Griffin averaged 10.4 points and 3.9 rebounds per game. He was taken with the No. 16 overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft by the Atlanta Hawks.
