Aaron Rodgers‘ NFL future is in a bit of a holding pattern as the 41-year-old four-time MVP quarterback continues to take his time weighing his free-agent options.

And, it appears, at least one of Rodgers’ suitors is more than willing to wait him out.

ESPN insider Jeremy Fowler revealed the Pittsburgh Steelers “are prepared to wait” while Rodgers makes up his mind whether he wants to return for his 21st NFL season or retire following two disappointing season with the New York Jets.

“The latest is the Pittsburgh Steelers are prepared to wait, that’s what I’m hearing. They seem to be out of the two teams — the Steelers and New York Giants — that have standing offers out to Aaron Rodgers, that they’re willing to wait this out. He is their primary option right now,” Fowler said on Thursday’s SportsCenter. “Of course, they have Russell Wilson, but there doesn’t seem to be a lot of momentum for those two to reunite at this point. Wilson does see the Giants as a viable option. So something has to shake with Rodgers making a decision.

“This is his first foray into free agency in 20 years. No one truly knows what to expect. But the question is does he wait out the Vikings who are sort of going to go with JJ McCarthy right now as the QB1 this offseason, maybe they revisit Rodgers this summer, but would he wait that long? Who knows.”

Aaron Rodgers reportedly generating ‘little interest’ as TV analyst: ‘He’s insufferable’

As Aaron Rodgers weighs his free agency options, his post-NFL future remains a discussion point. At age 41, speculation continues to grow about when he’ll decide to walk away from the field.

One option could be TV. However, according to a report from Front Office Sports’ Michael McCarthy, there isn’t much interest in Rodgers as an analyst.

Rodgers has made it clear he intends to play in 2025 even as he hits the other side of 40 years old. But when it comes to a potential career in TV once he eventually retires from the NFL, a source told McCarthy while Rodgers would be “great” in the role, networks wouldn’t seem interested in bringing him board. Rodgers has not publicly said anything about a future TV role.

“Yes, he could be a great analyst,” the source told McCarthy for his Tuned In column. “But he”s insufferable.”

Rodgers’ intelligence is well-noted after his appearances on “Jeopardy!” and he’s done TV interviews with Pat McAfee on his show. “Aaron Rodgers Tuesdays” are a staple during football season, and they continue to create conversation around the league. Those spots are currently on hiatus during the offseason.

That could translate well to television if he wanted to follow the road of Tony Romo or Tom Brady. But McCarthy reported Rodgers has “rubbed many members of the press the wrong way.”
