Report: Raiders releasing DE Chandler Jones following Las Vegas arrest
The Las Vegas Raiders have decided to part ways with defensive end Chandler Jones. The team made the decision after a “turbulent week,” according to a report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Jones has not been with the team since Labor Day. He played in 15 games for the Raiders during the 2022 season.
“Raiders are releasing DE Chandler Jones, who was arrested yesterday in Las Vegas after a turbulent week, per a league source,” Schefter reported. “Jones has been away from the Raiders since Labor Day weekend and was placed on the NFI list on Sept. 20. He was arrested after allegedly violating a domestic violence temporary protective order.
“Jones posted on social media Monday that he was taken to a hospital ‘against my will,’ and later transferred to a behavioral health facility.”
Jones is an 11-year NFL veteran and joined the Raiders in 2022. He started his career with the New England Patriots, spending four years with the franchise (2012-15). The defensive end spent six seasons with the Arizona Cardinals, as well (2016-21).
