Randy Gregory signing with Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Free agent pass rusher Randy Gregory is reportedly signing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Gregory, who is entering his eighth season in the NFL this season, recorded 2.5 sacks in 12 games with the San Francisco 49ers in 2023 while also recording 11 total tackles — his most productive season since his final season with the Dallas Cowboys in 2021. He the better part of one season in San Francisco after spending one and a half seasons with the Denver Broncos as he was traded after four games.
While in Denver, Gregory sat out more games (11) than he played (10), never catching on and eventually moved on from early in the Sean Payton regime. In total he produced 21 tackles and three sacks during his short time with the Broncos.
He drafted in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft by the Cowboys out of Nebraska. Through his career, he’s appeared in 60 games totaling 106 tackles, 22 sacks, 10 forced fumbles and one interception. Now, he moves on to Tampa to play for the reigning NFC South champions.
The Buccaneers finished the 2023-24 season in much better shape than many predicted. Taking down the Philadelphia Eagles, who fell in the Super Bowl one year prior, in the wild card round 32-9, their run was ended by the Detroit Lions in the divisional round.
