The Pittsburgh Steelers will play host to the two-time reigning Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs in Week 17 of the 2024 NFL season on Christmas Day, according to Jordan Schultz of Bleacher Report.

The AFC tilt will be one of two games to stream exclusively on Netflix.

“Last year, we decided to take a big bet on live — tapping into massive fandoms across comedy, reality TV, sports, and more,” Netflix Chief Content Office Bela Bajaria said in a statement. “There are no live annual events, sports or otherwise, that compare with the audiences NFL football attracts. We’re so excited that the NFL’s Christmas Day games will be only on Netflix.”

“We couldn’t be more excited to be the first professional sports league to partner with Netflix to bring live games to fans around the world,” said Hans Schroeder, NFL Executive Vice President of Media Distribution. “The NFL on Christmas has become a tradition and to partner with Netflix, a service whose biggest day of the year is typically this holiday, is the perfect combination to grow this event globally for NFL fans.”

The NFL will announce the full 2024 schedule Wednesday night on NFL Network at 8 p.m. ET.

Steelers set for primetime matchup against Chiefs

This year’s matchup will be the 38th meeting all-time between the Steelers and Chiefs. The two teams last went head-to-head in the 2021 Wild Card Round with the Chiefs defeating the Steelers, 42-21. Pittsburgh has dropped three in a row to Kansas City, last picking up a win during the 2017 regular season.

These Steelers look a lot different than the ones which have failed to get it done against the Chiefs in previous years, specifically on offense. Arthur Smith is the new offensive coordinator, Russell Wilson/Justin Fields are the new quarterbacks and the receiver room is led by George Pickens, Pat Freiermuth and Roman Wilson.

Will that new-look offense be enough to topple the powerhouse Chiefs? Chances are, we’ll know well before we get to Week 17.
