Turns out Shedeur Sanders wasn’t the only high-profile NFL prospect to get prank called during the 2025 NFL Draft. Penn State tight end Tyler Warren also reportedly received a call from a strange number Thursday evening, according to FOX Sports insider Jordan Schultz. And, at least according to Warren’s camp, it was likely the same prankster that called Sanders one day later.

“Sources: Penn State TE Tyler Warren was also prank called during the draft, receiving a call when the #Jets were on the clock at No. 7,” Schultz posted Sunday afternoon. “I’m told Warren’s camp believes it was the same number and/or area code involved in the Shedeur Sanders prank on Friday night. NFL teams have access to these numbers, and it’s clear someone passed it along — whether to family or friends. Just so cruel.”

Warren, another potential Top 10 pick who some NFL pundits had mocked to go to the New York Jets at No. 7 overall, reportedly received his prank call when the Jets were on the clock. Except the Jets selected former Missouri offensive tackle Armand Membou at No. 7. Of course, the former Nittany Lions star wouldn’t have to wait nearly as long as Sanders to get a real call from an NFL team when the Indianapolis Colts selected him seven picks later at No. 14 overall Thursday night.

Sanders was infamously pranked during Day 2 of the draft by two college-aged men on Friday evening. The prank call occurred during a disappointing draft slide that saw the projected Top 5 pick falling to the fifth round on Saturday, when the Cleveland Browns selected the former Colorado quarterback with the No. 144 overall pick. Video of the prank was released Saturday, showing a young man wearing an Ole Miss sweater impersonating New Orleans Saints general manager Mickey Loomis.

Shedeur Sanders prank call: NFL reportedly investigating how number was leaked during 2025 Draft

Shedeur Sanders‘ NFL Draft slide included a prank call during Friday’s Day 2 in which someone spoke to the former Colorado quarterback and pretended to be Loomis. Video was released of Sanders being faked out at a potential selection, told he would have to “wait a little longer.”

An NFL official told Adam Schefter of ESPN that the league is looking into how Sanders’ private number was leaked and then used for the prank call. Sanders said that Boost Mobile sent him a specific phone for the draft and the number was only provided to NFL teams.

“It didn’t really have an impact on me because it was just like, I mean, okay, like I don’t feed into negativity or I don’t feed into that stuff,” Sanders said. “You’ve seen [it on the] YouTube video. My reaction to it, I don’t — it is what it is. I think of course it is childish. Of course, I feel like it was a childish act, but everybody does childish things here and there.”
