A familiar face for NASCAR fans is now working for RFK Racing. Mike Massaro joins the Marketing and Communications Team. Massaro worked in the past for ESPN, ABC Sports, and NBC Sports in the past. He’s taking those talents to a new role.

RFK Racing is growing. They just added a third charter, leasing one from Rick Ware Racing. The team also added Kroger as a primary sponsor for the near future.

Having a charismatic, former TV personality in the marketing department can’t hurt. It helps that Massaro has covered NASCAR in the past and is familiar with the sport and the business.

Massaro was a key part of NASCAR NOW on ESPN. Now he will be a key part in helping RFK Racing continue to grow.

“We are excited to welcome Mike Massaro to our team,” said Steve Newmark, President of RFK Racing in a team release. “Mike’s deep understanding of not only our sport, but the landscape of sports media, combined with his extensive media and communications background, make him an ideal fit with our team and our continued marketing efforts.”

Of course, Massaro is excited about the new role as well.

“I am honored to join RFK Racing and look forward to contributing to the team’s success both on and off the track,” said Mike Massaro. “The opportunity to align my passion for motorsports with my professional expertise in communications is truly exciting. As part of the RFK team, I hope to bring innovative strategies to enhance fan engagement with our team and partners, and continue to amplify our media presence.”

RFK Racing continues to make big moves

Brad Keselowski and Chris Buescher have been a great duo for RFK Racing in the last few years. They have both won in the Next Gen era. Buescher went on a fantastic run in 2023 winning three races in five weeks at one point.

In 2025, Ryan Preece comes to RFK to pilot the third car. Preece has not had great success in the Cup Series but is seen as a driver who has not had his talents fully utilized yet. To be fair, he joined Stewart-Haas when it was already a sinking ship.

By hiring Mike Massaro, RFK is signaling that they are serious about this growth. You have to have marketing in this sport and with teams like Trackhouse and 23XI and Front Row also expanding to three teams in 2025, there is a lot of competition in the space.

RFK Racing is making all of the right moves. Now they are going to put cars on the track and see what they can do.
