Next year crew chief Matt McCall will not be with RFK Racing and the No. 6 team. Brad Keselowski has worked with McCall for three years. After another somewhat disappointing season for the 2012 NASCAR champion, apparently, a change was needed.

Brad Keselowski and Matt McCall only have one win in three seasons together. To their credit, there have been four times this season when the No. 6 car finished P2. Close, but not good enough.

We do not know who will replace McCall yet. A big change for 2025.

However, Keselowski’s old crew chief from Team Penske, Jeremy Bullins, is a free agent. Bob Pockrass of FOX Sports hinted at a reunion this morning.

Brad Keselowski has made the playoffs in the last two years. However, that 2022 season was not one to write home about. Keselowski and McCall debuted together by finishing 24th overall.

In 2023 there was an improvement. Of course, RFK Racing has been building itself essentially from the ground up. When Keselowski made the move to go there as a driver/owner, it was a surprising decision.

While the No. 6 team finished 8th overall in points last season, they are taking a step back this season despite a win at Darlington. Clearly, RFK believes there is more to be done here. Brad Keselowski is going to get a new crew chief.

Brad Keselowski wants playoff system to change

Speaking of the future, Brad Keselowski would like to see some changes in NASCAR. Following the controversial race at Martinsville, Keselowski took to social media to declare that the race should be the end of the current playoff system.

Of course, Keselowski was eliminated earlier in the playoffs. So, he doesn’t really have skin in the game at the moment. But he felt strongly about how things went down at Martinsville.

“This should be the last straw on the camel’s back for the playoffs,” Keselowski posted.

Brad Keselowski might not be able to change the playoffs. However, he can change his crew chief. Whoever he chooses will have a tough task. Keselowski is still a very talented race car driver, but he’s in the latter stages of his career.

Will Keselowski and RFK Racing find a crew chief who is able to rejuvenate the No. 6 team? We will have to wait and see.
