Washington tight end Ricky Seals-Jones was carted off the field Sunday after colliding hard with a camera man. He will not return to the game against Philadelphia.

Seals-Jones is said to have suffered a neck injury as a result of the collision. It is unknown whether the camera man suffered any injuries.

Prior to exiting the game, Seals-Jones had one catch for eight yards. Washington tacked on a field goal the play after the tight end left to extend their lead to 13-7 in the second quarter.

A fifth-year player out of Texas A&M, Seals-Jones was in his first season with Washington. He so far has 29 catches for 263 yards and two touchdowns in what has been one of his best seasons to date.

Washington added another field goal before halftime to take a 16-7 lead into the break. Should it hang on to win, it would snap a three-game losing streak.

The Eagles desperately need to win this game, as they are currently the last team in the playoffs from the NFC. Minnesota, Atlanta and New Orleans are all right behind them. Washington is also still in the playoff race, and could keep its hopes alive with a victory.

Seals-Jones has started six of the 12 games he has played in so far this season. He went undrafted in 2017 after four years in College Station, but signed with the Arizona Cardinals. He has also been a member of the Kansas City Chiefs and Cleveland Browns.

Watching Ricky Seals-Jones collide with the camera man Sunday was certainly scary, and football fans everywhere will be sending him well wishes. His next opportunity to return to the field will come next Sunday when Washington closes out the season against the New York Giants.

Kickoff for that contest is set for 1 p.m. ET at MetLife in New York.
