A late wreck involving Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Joey Logano, Kyle Busch, and Ryan Blaney has changed the end of the Daytona 500. We were approaching 10 laps to go in this race when the 47 and 22 got into it with one another leading to a wreck on the backstretch.

Joey Logano overcame multiple setbacks to put himself in position to win. Team Penske had their trio up near the front of the field. Ryan Blaney was pushing Austin Cindric in the lead. When it was all said and done two of those three Penske drivers were wrecked.

20 years of trying for Kyle Busch and he will have to wait for year 21 to try and win this race.

The field was running at top speed for too long. As the energy built up and drivers jockeyed for position, this was inevitable. Ricky Stenhouse Jr. tried to take more than he could get and Joey Logano wasn’t about to give up his spot.

When these races get to the end, everyone is pushing for every position that they can get. Stenhouse felt that he could take that spot and Logano felt that he could fit, as well. Two sides started to push and cars ended up wrecked. Two cars can’t fit in one space.

Joey Logano couldn’t back out after making move

Despite the DNF in this race, Joey Logano was able to get a stage win and walk away with stage points. If you can’t make it to the finish then that is probably the next best thing.

After getting out of the care center, Logano spoke to Regan Smith about what went down on the track. He was unable to back out of

“From my vantage point, I felt like I had to get to the second car in line to have a chance to win the thing,” Logano said. “Had an opportunity to get down in front of the 4 there. Then the 47 kinda had a late block there. At this point like it’s kind of indecisive and I was trying to back out of it at this point but I couldn’t.

“I was getting shoved into it at that point because the check up already happened. Yeah racing there at the end it seems like it’s just uh, I don’t know, felt like I could get my nose in there. Was going to and then he just wanted to block it and I couldn’t get out. Once you already checked up it brings the whole back of the pack up to you.”
