Rob Gronkowski knows what the Philadelphia Eagles need to do to beat the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX. The four-time Super Bowl champion tight end recently spoke to On3 about how the Eagles need to get after Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes to earn their second Super Bowl championship in franchise history.
“They’re going to have to put a lot of pressure on Patrick Mahomes, make him scramble around, fall down on the ground a couple of times as well, get a couple quarterback sacks,” Gronkowski told On3. “Let him feel the presence that the Philadelphia defensive line is up in his face, up in his grill the whole entire game and just throw him off a little bit, and him being comfortable in that pocket. Two years ago, the Philadelphia Eagles had a decent defensive line and I feel like they have upgraded tremendously at that position, through the draft.
“They have some absolute monsters at that position now at the defensive tackle and defensive end position. It’s like the Extended Escalade version with a V6 turbo engine in it. They’re massive, they look good, they play the part and they have an engine that just roars up the field as well. So I think that’s going to be the game changer. If the Philadelphia Eagles want to win, they got to contain Patrick Mahomes with their defensive line.”
This is not to say that Gronkowski is picking the Eagles to beat the Chiefs. But with him playing with Tom Brady during his entire NFL career, he understands if the Eagles don’t get any pressure on Mahomes, the Chiefs will win their third consecutive Super Bowl on Sunday.

Drew Brees and Reggie Bush are Rob Gronkowski’s ‘Wingmen’
And to celebrate the big game, Rob Gronkowski is in a new Bounty commercial with former NFL QB Drew Brees and former NFL RB Reggie Bush. In the commercial, Gronkowski is the wingman for Brees and Bush, meaning he is there to wipe the wing sauce off their faces with Bounty paper towels.
“It was really cool, that Reggie Bush and Drew Brees were my wingmen, they were teammates in New Orleans together back in the day,” Gronkowski said. “I was a big fan of Reggie Bush, I’m a fan of Drew Brees as well, just the excellence that he brings to the table at the quarterback position. And just how amazing Reggie Bush was in college, I mean, who wasn’t a fan of him when he was at USC, just absolutely dominating, making fools miss all over the place, which was so fun to see. So shooting with them, they were both great, both fun to work with and we got the job done.”
Gronkowski also talked about his partnership with Bounty. “I got the three-peat in this partnership,” he said. “I’m from Buffalo and wings are from Buffalo. I’m the Bounty Man today, and also everyone knows me as a football man. So if you put those three together, it goes into the famous quote that everyone knows about, ‘You can’t have football without wings and you can’t have wings without Bounty.’ I’m all of that combined, being from Buffalo, being the Bounty Man and loving football.”
