Robbie Gould has made his Super Bowl LVII prediction. But with it, he also appeared to take a shot at Jalen Hurts in the process.

Gould joined The 33rd Team podcast and made his pick for the big game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles, which kicks off Sunday at 6:30 p.m. ET. The game features MVP Patrick Mahomes and Hurts, who finished second in MVP voting. Gould said he’s rolling with Mahomes and the Chiefs because of their experience.

However, he thinks the Chiefs defense could have a good day if they make Hurts pass the ball more than run it.

“I just like the ability for Kansas City to go in with the experience that they have and the talent they have on offense, the youngness they have on defense with the interior. … I think from experience and talent, I like Kansas City over Philadelphia,” Gould said. “I’m not taking anything away from Philly. I think they’re a really good football team. Obviously, they have to be a good football team to get there. They’ve done it pretty convincingly.

“They haven’t really had to play in the playoffs a full game yet, right? You get in the game where they’re down, obviously, Kansas City gets up on them early, it might take them a little bit out of their game with the run plan, which I’m assuming they’re going to try to get going first to get Jalen Hurts going. But if you make Jalen Hurts play quarterback, you’re going to have probably a pretty solid day on defense.”

Regarding the experience the Chiefs bring into the game — Mahomes is gearing up for his third Super Bowl in four years — Gould said Kansas City has an edge because of how the week goes. He also shared a story of the time his San Francisco 49ers played the Chiefs in the Super Bowl in 2019 when he saw first-hand how they prepare for the game.

That’s why he thinks nerves could play a big role.

“From a pure perspective of football, I think Andy Reid, who’s been there multiple times, will have a little bit better understanding of what that week looks like,” Gould said. “How to prep his team. I remember when we played Kansas City in the Super Bowl, I felt like our guys were really revved up. They were running around really quick. When I saw Kansas City’s warm-up, they were kind of like almost jogging through and conserving that energy because it’s just such a long day, right?
