Robert Griffin III hammered NFL executives for their insecurities watching Shedeur Sanders fall in the 2025 NFL Draft. The Heisman finalist was not selected in the first three rounds over the first two days.

On one hand, this can be considered mind boggling since Sanders was a -600 favorite to be selected in the first round and was widely projected as the second best quarterback behind Miami’s Cam Ward. Ward went No. 1 overall to the Tennessee Titans.

But, on the other hand, there have been plenty of logical and illogical takes as to why Sanders was not picked. Fair or unfair, Griffin III called out NFL teams across the board.

“I’m on my way home to go shoot an emergency podcast, because Shedeur Sanders should not have fallen out of the first three rounds of the NFL Draft,” Griffin III said. “There’s a lot of people out there who are saying that, you know, he needed to be humbled. Shedeur Sanders didn’t need to be humbled. He’s already humble. His confidence should not shake you or make you uncomfortable. It didn’t make you uncomfortable when Joe Burrow was confident. It didn’t make you uncomfortable when Baker Mayfield was confident.

“It doesn’t make you uncomfortable when another quarterback whose last name isn’t Sanders walks around and feels that they can be a franchise quarterback because their tape says they can. Shedeur Sanders’ talent, his tape and his pedigree is what gets some guys opportunities in the NFL that maybe they haven’t earned. He earned this opportunity, and it’s absolutely ridiculous that he’s falling out of the first three rounds of the draft.”

ESPN draft expert Mel Kiper, who believes Sanders was the best QB in the 2025 draft class, had a visceral reaction to another day of teams passing on Sanders. This one topped his previous reactions.

“You talk about cocky or confident, arrogant or charismatic, OK? Leadership. There’s not going to be a show. There’s not going to be a circus with Shedeur Sanders,” Kiper said. “Deion Sanders was one of the hardest working players in the history of this game. He brought with him a great work ethic. He was loved in every locker room.

“Shedeur Sanders will be the same thing. He will galvanize… I don’t know what people are thinking is going to happen when Shedeur Sanders is part of football team. He said he’s going to work, the players are going to rally around him, he’s going to be a hell of a quarterback in his league, and he will cause a lot of sleepless nights and a lot of anguish.”
