Robert Griffin III got real bold with one of his predictions for the 2023 NFL Draft during an appearance on ESPN’s Get Up on Monday.

The former Heisman Trophy winner and second overall pick stated his belief that the Baltimore Ravens will draft former Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett over the weekend, which would reunite him with former Bulldogs offensive coordinator Todd Monken. Griffin III explained his reasoning, which is pretty sound to be honest.

“This one just makes sense, the Ravens draft Stetson Bennett,” revealed Griffin III. “He gets reunited with his offensive coordinator Todd Monken, who is now the Ravens offensive coordinator. They ended a 41-year championship drought for Georgia, and then won back-to-back national championships. Who better to bring in than a guy that knows his system that can help put it in this offseason.”

Moreover, predictions involving Bennett have ranged from a Day 2 selection to some believing the former Georgia star will go undrafted. In an ESPN Insider piece, reporter Jeremy Fowler quoted one NFL executive who illustrates those concerns, evidently not sharing the same sentiment as Griffin III.

“He does some good stuff. But he might go undrafted,” the NFL executive said. “His pre-draft has not been good and there are questions about whether he’ll be the pro that you need out of a backup QB.”

Continuing, the pre-draft process for Bennett notably did him no favors, as it was plagued by an arrest for public intoxication on Jan. 29.

The incident happened in Dallas, where officers responded to a report of a man banging on doors in a residential area. When officers arrived they found an intoxicated Bennett, who was then taken into custody and charged with public intoxication. Bennett spoke on his arrest at the NFL Combine in March.

“It was a mistake that everybody is aware of,” Bennett said. “I understand why that can’t happen. I’ve talked to coaches about it, talked to GMs.

“Apologized to my family. That’s who I felt the worst about. Felt like I let them down because no matter where I go now, and even without all this, I’ve got an obligation. I’m the fourth. Can’t do that if your last name is Bennett and I know better.”

That incident was a red flag for a quarterback that likely already had to overcome some doubts at the NFL level.

Nevertheless, there wouldn’t be a better situation for Stetson Bennett than being reunited with his former offensive coordinator. Time will tell who gives the former Bulldogs signal caller a chance, but it’s certainly something to watch.
