Romeo Doubs is already proving to be a supportive teammate to Jordan Love. Even with Aaron Rodgers leaving the Green Bay Packers for the New York Jets, Doubs believes the offense has major potential.

In a recent interview, the second-year running back put a lot of faith in Love, who will start running the offense with Rodgers out the door. And, even though Rodgers is a four-time NFL MVP, he doesn’t necessarily think there’s going to be a drop-off at the position.

“I think Jordan is a really good quarterback,” Doubs told SpectrumNews1.com. “When you go from Aaron Rodgers to Jordan, Aaron was a really great quarterback, but I believe Jordan can do the same exact thing. So I don’t really see what’s the big difference.”

Love might prove to be a solid quarterback for Green Bay. However, there’s a pretty significant difference going from a 19-year veteran to a third-year player.

Over his two seasons with the Packers, Love has appeared in 10 games and made one start. He’s thrown just 83 passes with as many touchdowns as interceptions (3).

Still, Doubs expressed confidence in Love.

“I see a progression,” Doubs said. “I see it going up, I don’t see the Packers going down — I only focus on our room and our team in this organization. This organization is historic, and it’s only winning. That’s all. When you hear Green Bay, it’s no losing, it’s only winning.”

Are the Packers going into rebuild mode?

Doubs doesn’t seem to believe Green Bay’s offense will take much of a step back in 2023, even without Rodgers. But another Packer, offensive lineman David Bakhtiari, wants to make sure to not disrespect the future Hall of Famer.

Bakhtiari certainly believes the team can find success this upcoming season. But he still thinks it’s a bit of a rebuild for Green Bay.

“How I look at is, it’s disrespectful to say you’re not rebuilding off a Hall of Fame quarterback,” David Bakhtiari said. “It was disrespectful to say you weren’t rebuilding off of Brett Favre when you moved to Aaron. No one knew Aaron and what he was going to be.

“So I’m not going to sit here and like pull back those words because that is, when you look at how it’s been building, how we were chasing after it and the cap — there was a bunch of situations that can definitely allude to it — we have a young team.”

The Packers finished the 2022 season with an 8-9 record, missing the playoffs.
