WATCH: Ron Rivera goes on fiery, NSFW rant defending Carson Wentz after win over Bears

Ron Rivera had an interesting week when his “quarterback” comments went viral regarding Carson Wentz. After his Washington Commanders defeated the Chicago Bears on Thursday, Rivera unleashed a fiery rant defending Wentz after more questions.

A reporter asked Rivera about a report that he didn’t pick Wentz as quarterback. Instead, Dan Snyder allegedly did. That question sent Rivera into a rant defending his players amid all the outside noise, which got even louder after an ESPN report about Snyder alleging he has “dirt” on NFL owners on Thursday.

“Everybody keeps wanting to say I didn’t want anything to do with Carson. Bulls–t. I’m the f—ing guy that pulled out the sheets of paper and looked at the analytics and watched the tape when we were in freaking Indianapolis, OK? That’s what pisses me off because the young man doesn’t deserve to have that all the time. I’m sorry, I’m done.”

Washington defeated the Bears 12-7 on Thursday night and didn’t score a touchdown until the fourth quarter when Brian Robinson Jr. ran in the first touchdown of his young NFL career. Wentz had a rough go, going 12-for-22 for 99 yards while taking three sacks in the effort. With the win, the Commanders improve to 2-4 on the season heading into a matchup against the Green Bay Packers on the road next week.
