Roof flies off Bayley Currey's truck during Fr8 208 at Atlanta
The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Fr8 208 just got a little wild with Bayley Currey losing his literal roof from his race truck. This is not something you see often, especially since the Convertible Series ended decades ago.
It isn’t clear how this happened. However, earlier in the race, it appeared the Currey’s windshield was buckling severely. There are support bars on the windshield that are supposed to keep it from doing that, but Currey had a dented window in front of him.
When Bayley Currey brought his truck down to pit road, it was quite the sight.
According to one report from Currey’s radio, it could have been a piece of debris that caused the roof to come off. However, I can’t stop thinking about that windshield. Early end to the day for the 41 team of Niece Motorsports.
This is not something we see all the time in NASCAR. Then again, this Truck Series race was getting a little boring compared to the Daytona Demolition Derby from last week. Joking aside, the racing looks great this afternoon.
Bayley Currey joins Christian Eckes in the garage
Today was filled with random mishaps. Bayley Currey lost his roof, and before that, Christian Eckes lost his brakes. The 19 truck was great. He drove it through the field at will and made whatever move he wanted when he wanted.

Eckes won Stage 1, and get this, he didn’t have any brakes. Getting to pit road was a challenge for him, but considering how it could have ended, all went well. Eckes had to go to the garage and ended his day early after his team failed to make repairs.
So, Currey isn’t the only one who has had bad luck. Keep your eyes on Layne Riggs in the 38 truck. Riggs has also had some windshield issues as well throughout the afternoon. If his roof comes off, then we’ll know the issue.
This race is getting to the end, tune into FS1 if you haven’t already and make sure to check out the Xfinity Series race later tonight at 5:00 PM EST. Atlanta produces great racing and as the track wears down, it only gets better.
