For the third time this season, Nick Sanchez has won the pole award. He will lead the Rackley Roofing 200 on Friday night. He was quick in practice and just an absolute rocket in qualifying as he laid down a 29.571-second lap to claim the front row. Is this when Sanchez wins his first NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race ever?

Nashville Superspeedway has already produced some fast times in the Truck Series. Things were heated up at the top of the board. As the drivers dipped under the 30-second mark it felt like no one would be able to one-up the time before. However, the time kept falling as drivers made laps.

Nick Sanchez was able to edge out Bayley Currey by 0.013 seconds. This was a great qualifying session for the majority of rookies. Rajah Caruth will fire off P3. Daniel Dye and Taylor Gray bring up the back end of the top-10 as well.

After winning the pole, Nick Sanchez talked with Josh Sims about the session. The rookie said he wasn’t good at qualifying and was happy with the result as he saw it as the hardest part of the weekend. However, Sanchez now leads the Truck Series this season with his third pole award. Maybe he’s better than he thinks.

This race is going to be very interesting as Dean Thompson, who had a fast truck in practice, wasn’t able to make a qualifying lap.

Nick Sanchez is on the verge of the playoffs

In the NASCAR Truck Series only 10 drivers make it to the postseason. There are a lot of talented drivers that get left out of the playoffs each year in this series. Most times it is a matter of a few points that separate the drivers on the bubble.

Right now, Nick Sanchez is on the bubble. 12th overall in the standings, Sanchez could make the playoffs in one of two ways. He could point his way in. However, there have already been six full-time playoff-eligible winners this season. That could easily get to ten by the end of the season forcing a tough situation for those without a W.

However, if Sanchez has a performance like he did at Texas, he could win this Rackley Roofing 200. He is the pole winner and will have clean air to start his day. As long as he keeps it clean and gets in and out of the pits alright, the rookie could be on his way to Victory Lane.

Nick Sanchez will attempt to win from the pole for his first career NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series win.
