Ross Chastain is playing into the fun of being the driver that gets all the flack on the track, even if some of it is unmerited.

Chastain and his Trackhouse Racing teammate Daniel Suarez took a break from preparing for the FireKeepers Casino 400 at Michigan to go school bus racing at Charlotte Motor Speedway earlier this week. Of course, before you race them, you have to paint them.

Check out Chastain’s school bus below, featuring the famous “Chastained” line that his competitors love to use to describe his aggressive driving style.

Perhaps Chastain’s style is better suited for school bus racing. If only the checks were as fat when it came to that medium.

Nevertheless, it’s great to see Ross Chastain can keep things light and embrace the saying, instead of burying it and acting like it’s never been said before. The Watermelon Man is a fun dude, and it’s easy to see why he’s gained so many fans so quick throughout his NASCAR career.

We’ll see if any drivers get “Chastained” on Ross’ way to victory in Michigan during Monday’s NASCAR race.

NASCAR postpones FireKeepers Casino 400 due to rain

Elsewhere, just when we thought we would see the FireKeepers Casino 400 run without issue, the rain had to return to the NASCAR track. Michigan was being stubborn on Sunday. The rain came and then went.

NASCAR pushed the race time up and got the track dry, but about 72 laps into the race, things came to a halt again.

The rain just wouldn’t stop in Brooklyn, Michigan. NASCAR had the track dried off and then they lost it due to weather. That means more drying will have to take place before this race gets going again. And that won’t happen until Monday.

With too much rain in the area and no lights at the track, NASCAR decided to move the race to Monday. Another weather-delayed weekend on the season. The race will resume on Monday at Noon.

The decision to postpone the race came down to continuing rain and the fact there are no lights at Michigan. With those facts in front of them, it was an easy decision to put this race off until Monday.

This will be yet another Monday race and one where Martin Truex Jr. looks like the best car on the track. Perhaps Martin Mondays is coming back for one last ride before the NASCAR Playoffs?
