Ryan Blaney gives update after slamming into wall at Daytona
Ryan Blaney’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series regular season ended in disappointment Saturday night at the Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona when he did not finish following a crash.
On Lap 96, Blaney’s No. 12 Ford crashed head-on into Turn 4 at, ending his night early. He provided an update on X, formerly known as Twitter, following the race.
“I appreciate everyone’s support, I’m doing alright,” Blaney said. “Getting hooked in the right rear in both Daytona races this year in the same exact spot because of someone’s terrible push is frustrating. Hope (Ryan Preece) is able to get back on his feet soon.”
Preece also wrecked Saturday night when his car rolled over 10 times close to the finish of the race. Preece stayed overnight at the hospital before being released in the morning.
“Earlier this morning, Ryan Preece was discharged from Halifax Health Medical Center. He is on his way home to North Carolina,” Stewart-Haas Racing posted on X.
