Like many children of NASCAR drivers, Ryan Newman’s daughter is already tearing it up on the race track at just 12 years old. According to Newman, his daughter Brooklyn is a natural. After all, her dad has been letting her drive the truck at home in the driveway since she was just 4.

By the time Brooklyn was 6, she had started to drive her dad’s quarter-midget around. So, on the verge of being a teenager, the racer’s daughter is becoming a bit of a racer herself. Ryan Newman keeps a watchful eye on his child, but she’s already racing at Millbridge and other tracks.

If you ask the future Hall of Famer, he isn’t surprised at all that Brooklyn is racing. She did grow up around it her entire life.

“I can see what she likes and what she wants to do,” Newman said, via Autoweek. “She’s always enjoyed being at the race track.”

Being the child of Rocket Man has to be pretty cool for a young racer. Brooklyn has one of the most talented drivers of all-time right over her shoulder helping her along the way. But there are some things you can’t teach.

“I can’t teach her car control,” Newman said. “She’s got it in her butt, in her genes, in her blood and in her mind. I’ve had many people come up and tell me ‘She’s got it.'”

Keep your eyes out the next five years or so for Brooklyn Newman. Who knows if or when she will make her NASCAR debut, but she’s well on her way if she keeps at it. And apparently, she’s a natural.

Ryan Newman remembers big SRX win with daughters in attendance

When you look back on big wins in Ryan Newman’s career, you likely think of his NASCAR success. However, one of his most emotional wins came just a year ago. After his Daytona accident in 2020, no one knew what the future held for Newman on the track. But the SRX gave him a chance to go back out and win.

It just so happened that both Brooklyn and her sister Ashlyn were in attendance to see their dad win at Stafford Speedway.

“After all the things that I had been through with my accident and stuff, and not being back in Victory Lane in a Cup car, and getting back in Victory Lane amongst the greatest drivers on a track I’d never raced with some of my friends was really special. To have my family there, my daughters, my girlfriend just an amazing feeling to have them in Victory Lane with me. That was the most special part of it,” Newman said in a season preview video.

Now just a year after that win, Ryan Newman is back to racing part-time in NASCAR for Rick Ware Racing. He is just sticking to the smaller tracks, avoiding the higher speeds of the larger venues.
