Ryan Preece hospitalized after scary wreck at Daytona
Ryan Preece has been transported to a local hospital after getting into a wreck Saturday at Daytona, NBC reported. Racing in the Cup Series, Preece’s car spun out, caught air, and then flipped through the infield in what was a scary sight for onlookers.
Thankfully, the car landed on its wheels and Preece was able to get out and stand as the NASCAR AMR Safety team attended to him. It’s unclear at this point how severe his injuries are, but he is currently being evaluated as we await another update.
Preece ran into teammate Chase Briscoe as his car started to lift once it hit the grass. It rolled over several times before coming to a stop as the safety team rushed to his aid. According to NBC, Briscoe is OK following the scary collision.
Ryan Preece was placed on a stretcher before he was loaded into the ambulance and taken to the care center to be evaluated following the wreck. After the race, which Chris Buescher won, a number of Stewart-Haas Racing crew and drivers made their way to the center to check on him.
Thoughts are certainly with Preece as he gets checked out by doctors and we hope everything turns out to be all right for him.

Chris Buescher earns third win of the season at Coke Zero 400
With a push from his teammate and team owner, Chris Buescher is a winner at Daytona for his third checkered flag of the year. RFK Racing is here to make a run for the NASCAR Playoffs. Watch out, Buescher might be a championship threat.
Just like every other race at Daytona International Speedway, you never knew what was going to happen. We had three-wide and four-wide racing. There was a huge wreck in Stage 2 that changed the entire race. With Chase Elliott in the mix at the end, fans were on the edge of their seats, hearts pounding.
He’s won at Richmond, Michigan, and now Daytona. He looks just as excited to win as he did after that first one. Chris Buescher is coming into his own at the perfect time in the season.
Chris Buescher could be the hottest driver in NASCAR right now. Between Buescher and Martin Truex Jr., the regular season champion, it is hard to pick. Oh yeah, don’t forget Mr. Big Hat himself, William Byron. He has five wins this season and will be a championship favorite as well.
