Ryan Preece returning to ‘Talladega Nights’ Wonder Bread paint scheme at Talladega
Ryan Preece is ready to “Shake and Bake” as he will bring back the Talladega Nights Wonder Bread paint scheme for the Talladega NASCAR Cup Series race. It was announced on Wednesday that Wonder Bread will be showcased on the No. 41 Ford which was made famous in the racing film that stars Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly. Preece had the same paint scheme for the Talladega race last year and earned a P8 finish.
“It’s just been a lot of fun, to be honest with you,” Preece said last year, per NASCAR.com. “We’ve been able to do a lot of different skits. When it comes to social media, obviously, it’s something that people are on constantly, and it’s created an opportunity for us to kind of show our personalities and really get into the movie. I’m pretty pumped about some of the stuff we actually shot earlier, and that’s going to come out here in the next day or so. So we’re gonna give people some laughs.”
Talladega Nights (officially called Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby) was a huge hit as it earned $163.4 million at the box office worldwide. The film focuses on a successful NASCAR driver Ricky Bobby (Ferrell) who competes with his best friend Cal Naughton Jr. (Reilly). The 2006 movie also stars Sascha Baron Cohen, Michael Clarke Duncan, Leslie Bibb, Gary Cole, Jane Lynch and Amy Adams.

Will the ‘Talladega Nights’ paint scheme help Ryan Preece win?
Preece is hoping the paint scheme can help him get the first race win of his Cup Series career. In 177 Cup Series races, Preece has earned 14 top-10 finishes and has won one pole. Preece drives for Stewart-Haas Racing but is currently looking for a new team as Stewart-Haas is shutting down at the end of the year.
In June, Preece was asked if he would join the newly formed Haas Factory Team in the Xfinity Series next year. “Man I don’t know, that’d be crazy, wouldn’t it?” Preece said during a rain delay at the New Hampshire Cup Series race. “But you never know.”
