While Ryan Preece is fine to drive at Darlington and has no paint, his eyes show the toll that his body took in the Daytona wreck. Reporting that he has no pain in his eyes, the NASCAR driver looks a little worse for wear. That is due to blood vessels popping as he flipped and wrecked last week.

Showing how badass he is, Ryan Preece took the sunglasses off and let the media see the damage. After flipping up to 10 times or more, it is amazing that he is able to return so soon. He was determined to not miss a race, and it will likely take a lot more than a couple of black eyes and popped blood vessels to get him out of his No. 41 Ford Mustang.

Just look at Preece. His green irises are almost glowing against the rest of his blood-red eyes.

It was a scary moment as Ryan Preece went into the grass, lifted, and began to flip multiple times at Daytona. Who knew 3500lbs of race car could spin so quickly and move so far before coming to a stop?

While it looked terrifying, the safety of this advanced car worked. There will likely be more additions to be made in regard to safety after this. However, seeing Ryan Preece ready to race at Darlington – you can’t deny the results.

Ryan Preece promised he would be back, he is

Don’t ever count out the driver from Connecticut. Clearly, those Northeast wheelmen are built different. Ryan Preece went through a wreck that would make many drivers put up their helmets. Lesser drivers. However, to be a Cup Series driver at the top of the sport, you have to be tough.

That was the big message he had in his return, toughness. He told fans on Twitter he would be back right after the wreck happened. Now, he’s making good on that promise and suiting up for a date with The Lady in Black.

After being cleared earlier this week, Preece is ready to get back to what he does, race. This season has not been the best for the 41 team or Stewart-Haas Racing as a whole. That doesn’t mean they can’t find some late-season momentum, or at least finish the season with a strong attitude.

If Ryan Preece took a week off to rest up, no one would blame him. He just couldn’t do it. Almost nothing will get him out of that seat.
