Sabrina Ionescu has already established herself as one of the elite superstars in women’s basketball. On Friday evening, she torched the nets in the final round of the WNBA three-point contest on All-Star weekend.

The former Oregon star set the nets on fire and simply couldn’t miss, pouring in 37 points in the final round to bring home the three-point title. That kind of score has never been accomplished ever before in any professional three-point competition. She missed only two shots in the entire round, draining 25 of her 27 attempts.

Check it out below.

It’s pretty insane that she missed only two shots the entire final round. If you want to check out a graphic of her shot chart, there’s that below as well. Check out the chart posted by Jack Benjamin below.

She made 20 straight shots and 25 of her final 26 attempts to bring home the three-point crown. And well deserved after hitting that many shots. That will be a tough number to ever reach again.

Ionescu entered the final round needing just 11 points to avoid elimination after posting a 26-point performance in the previous round.

Her score of 37-points in the final round set the single-round record for the three-point contest in the WNBA. Good luck topping that. Ionescu won the three-point championship after the next closest competitor was Seattle Storm guard Sami Whitcomb, who pumped in 24 points.

Following the win, the former Oregon star summed things up quite simply during her interview with ESPN’s Holly Rowe, “I wasn’t sure how many I missed, but I knew it wasn’t a lot.”

Sabrina Ionescu has continued her path to superstardom in the WNBA

Ionescu came out of Oregon three years ago as a player that was known to put up numbers. She has only continued to do that in her time with the Liberty.

In 83 career games with New York, she has averaged 15 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 5.9 assists. Over that time, she has posted three triple-doubles, including the only one in league history that took less than three quarters to attain as well as the only one that come in a 30-point scoring outing.

Ionescu just recently became a WNBA All-Star for the second consecutive season. After the All-Star weekend, she will then continue to lead New York in the hunt for their third straight playoff appearance.
