Samantha Busch reacts to overtime restart wreck involving Kyle Busch
It’s been a tough season for Kyle Busch and it sure seems like Murphy’s Law is working against him. Maybe even pulling overtime shifts.
After the day got off to a tough start with Busch overshooting a pit stall and costing himself valuable track positioning, things actually started to look up for the NASCAR veteran.
He got himself into excellent position toward the end of the race, in P4 as the race went down to the wire in an overtime. Then things went wrong again.
Kyle Larson quickly brought out a caution at the start of the first overtime when he shot up the track and got into the back of Ross Chastain, spinning Chastain out and causing a significant wreck that involved multiple drivers.
Busch, of course, was caught right behind Chastain and had half the field go by him as he attempted to avoid any hard contact. His wife Samantha responded on Twitter to the unfortunate turn of events.

“Ughhhhhhhhhh quote of the day from tv, ‘If someone was gonna wreck it was gonna happen right in front of Kyle Busch,'” she wrote.
Surprisingly, Busch was actually placed back near the front of the field by NASCAR on the restart. But his day would only continue toward the seemingly inevitable negative.
After a couple restarts, fuel became a major issue for some drivers. Busch was one of them.
During one of the overtimes, Busch ran out of fuel in the middle of a pack of drivers, causing the pack to get into him and push him into the wall. His day was disappointingly over from there, as the field shuffled significantly as drivers made their decisions to take on fuel.
Unfortunately for Kyle Busch, it was more of the same in 2024.
He ended the day with a DNF, his fourth in the last five races. But he seemed to have at least a decent sense of humor about it as the crowd cheered his DNF, bowing to the crowd as he exited his vehicle for the day.
