Saquon Barkley calls out fans who booed Taylor Swift at Super Bowl: 'I don't get it'

Saquon Barkley couldn’t stop hearing the cheers for the Eagles during Super Bowl LIX, but didn’t appreciate the boos for Taylor Swift.
When the pop star was shown on the jumbotron during the game, there were mixes of boos and cheers, but the boos were a bit louder. That didn’t sit right with Barkley.
Swift has been at plenty of Chiefs games since beginning to date tight end Travis Kelce and was noticeable at last year’s Super Bowl. But the reception wasn’t as grand this time around.
“I remember that they showed her on the jumbotron and she got booed,” Barkley said on The Howard Stern Show. “I don’t get it. I don’t get why she was getting hate there.”
As Barkley noted, Swift was there to support Kelce and the Chiefs. Maybe Eagles’ fans threw boos her way since she grew up an Eagles fan being from around the area.

Saquon Barkley sides with Taylor Swift
For Barkley, Swift is the latest giant name to get seriously into football and putting the sport on a more global platform.
“She’s there supporting her significant other and she’s made the game bigger,” Barkley said. “We’re all about, in football, we’re all about how can we expand the game and make it more internationally and we’re traveling to Brazil and we’re traveling to Mexico, and apparently we’re traveling to Australia soon, so we’re trying to expand the game and her being a part of it’s only helping that, so I don’t get the slack that she’s getting.”
During the first quarter of the game, Swift was put on screen on the video boards at the Caesar’s Superdome. Swift seemed surprised by the reaction, looking around quite a bit before turning to friends to inquire what was going on.
Swift has proven to be quite the good luck charm for Kansas City since first attending a game in a box at Arrowhead Stadium on Sept. 24, 2023. The Chiefs won 13 of 16 games she attended going into Sunday, including Super Bowl LVIII over the San Francisco 49ers.
