Saquon Barkley pulls off crazy reverse hurdle after spin move on long run
Philadelphia Eagles star running back Saquon Barkley is a certified freak of nature. Always has been throughout his football career. And on Sunday, he flashed yet another amazing display of freakish athleticism, when he pulled off a reverse hurdle over a defender in the Eagles-Jaguars game.
It was without a doubt, one of the most electrifying plays of his career. First, he pulled off an impressive spin move, then the reverse hurdle pretty set social media ablaze, as you might imagine.
Following the game, Barkley simply posted to social media, “GOD is great!!!! Back to work.”
Barkley has looked like one of the best running backs in the league this year, having a renaissance of sorts. The Eagles won the game 28-23, and it wasn’t without another spectacular performance from the former Penn State star.
It shouldn’t be too surprising that he’s thriving this year, since he got a massive upgrade in his offense and offensive line.
Barkley finished with 27 carries for 159 rushing yards and one touchdown. As a receiver, he hauled in four catches for 40 yards and a touchdown.
For the season, he’s racked up 157 carries for 925 rushing yards (second in the NFL). As a receiver, he’s hauled in 20 catches for 146 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Simply put, his spectacular play has helped to carry the Eagles for much of the season. And he’s done all of that in just eight games of work. If he can keep it up, he’ll post some monster numbers for the 2024 season.
In his last three games, Barkley has 72 touches for 497 total yards and three touchdowns.

In 2022, Barkley rushed for 1,312 yards and 10 touchdowns on 295 carries. As a receiver, he also hauled in 338 receiving yards on 57 catches, giving him over 1,600 total all-purpose yards.
Barkley tore his ACL in 2020, which sidelined him for all but two games of that season. In 2021, Barkley suffered an ankle injury which limited his productivity for much of that season. He had 162 carries for 593 rushing yards and two touchdowns, averaging 3.7 yards per carry. It should be noted the injury in 2021 was a left low ankle sprain.
His first season in the NFL, the former Penn State star exploded onto the scene, racking up 2,028 yards from scrimmage and 15 touchdowns. After putting up those stellar numbers, he earned NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year honors.
While at Penn State, Barkley had a highly decorated career, leaving as one of the greatest running backs to ever suit up for the school. He finished his career there with 3,843 rushing yards, which currently ranks him as the school’s second all-time leading rusher. First is Virginia native Evan Royster, who piled up 3,932 career rushing yards with the Nittany Lions.
