Scott Hanson takes jab at Tom Brady over Brandon Aubrey commentary in Cowboys-Browns
Scott Hanson is one of those people who is absolutely perfect for his job. The man is beloved by NFL fans across the country for his coverage on NFL RedZone, one of the all-time favorites for football fans across the country. The way he gets excited throughout the broadcast and manages all of chaos of an NFL Sunday, well it puts him in a league of his own. On Sunday, when Tom Brady was making his broadcast debut in the Browns-Cowboys matchup, Hanson gave TB12 grief for how boring he was being on the call.
Cowboys’ kicker Brandon Aubrey was about to line up for a 71-yard field goal attempt and quite frankly, should have sounded more excited. Hanson wasn’t too pleased with Brady’s enthusiasm during the play and let fans know about it.
Keep in mind, a 71-yard field goal would be an all-time NFL record by five yards. But Aubrey has shown amazing power the past year.
A 71-yard field goal attempt is no joke. Hanson is absolutely right to let Brady know he should be more fired up about it. It would have been incredible to watch and unfortunately, we didn’t get to see it. Aubrey’s length would make it a fascinating watch.

Brady has accomplished amazing things in his career as a player, but football fans are well aware he’s got a ways to go in the broadcast booth. There’s no hiding that. No amount of celebrity, wealth, or fame can make up for that lack of experience. He might be a seven-time Super Bowl Champion and one of the greatest athletes ever to grace the Earth, but he’s still a rookie in the broadcast booth.
It’ll certainly be interesting to see how Brady and his broadcasting career plays out in the coming years. It’ll also be interesting to see where the network decides to put Greg Olsen, who has continued to be a fan favorite of the FOX NFL broadcast teams over the years.
