No golfer in the world is hotter right now than Scottie Scheffler. Already having three wins this season, Scheffler is off to a flying start at The Masters and will enter the weekend with a five-stroke lead at -8.
Scheffler stepped onto the Par 3, 16th hole looking for his fourth birdie within five holes and extending his already massive lead. Sitting 166 yards away and pulling an eight iron out of the bag, Scheffler stuck it within a few feet, much to the pleasure of the surrounding crowd.
After walking onto the green, he was able to make the birdie putt. His tee shot proved to be one of his best of the day and saw him step further away from a slew of players sitting at -3.
You can watch the full sequence below.
Scheffler started up and down with his second round, having two bogeys and a birdie on the first three holes. From there, he settled in and did not drop a stroke. Able to rattle off six birdies, nobody had a better day at Augusta National than the former Texas Longhorns.

It’s been a breakout season for Scheffler already, recently climbing to the No. 1 ranking in the world after a win at the WGC-Dell Technology Match Play in Austin, TX. Also having won at WM Phoenix Open and Arnold Palmer Invitational, all three of Scheffler’s professional wins have come in 2022.
Scheffler had his best career finished in Augusta last year, finishing tied for 18th. He has been able to place inside of the top 10 in every other major, with The Masters alluding him. Now, Scheffler will be going for the green jacket, let alone a top 10 finish.
Heading into Saturday, Scheffler will tee off with the final group of the day. He will be hoping to keep his distant lead before heading into the final round on Sunday. Scheffler will be paired with Charles Schwartzel, with the two scheduled at the first tee at 2:50 ET.
