Former Texas star Scottie Scheffler has been on one of the most epic heaters in golf history this year. He just won his fourth tournament in 57 days and the win on Sunday evening is one that every player on PGA Tour covets the most–The Masters. Scheffler tamed Augusta National with his steady demeanor and remarkable ability to adapt to a variety of shots, shooting 10-under after four days and finishing three shots ahead of the player in second place, Rory McIlroy. The finish on hole No. 18 didn’t come without a little bit of drama from the Texas native.

Scheffler had a five shot lead on the final green, but closed with a double-bogey after a few missed short putts. The winning putt finally dropped and the Texan could finally breathe a sigh of relief.

Check it out below as the Texan slips on one of the most coveted pieces of memorabilia in all of sports, the green jacket. As per the tradition at Augusta National, last year’s champion, Hideki Matsuyama got the honors of slipping the green jacket on this year’s Master’s champion.

Scheffler entered the year without a win to his name. He’s been on an absolute tear since then, winning the WM Phoenix Open, Arnold Palmer Invitational, and the WGC-Dell Technology Match Play — all within five weeks of each other and becoming the world’s No. 1 golfer. Not to mention playing a critical role in the United States winning the Ryder Cup.

Scottie Scheffler has now finished in the Top 10 in every golf major

Scheffler has played well in every other major, finishing inside the top 10 in the PGA Championship, The Open, and US Open. It’s always been Augusta where Scheffler was not able to figure it out, with his previous best finish being tied for 18th. He was able to put it all together this year, dominating from the second round on.

Now, he can add The Masters to his resume, where he will forever be engraved in golf history.
