Seahawks safety Jamal Adams issues apology to independent concussion doctor after sideline outburst
Seattle Seahawks (3-1) safety Jamal Adams issued a public apology Wednesday to the independent concussion doctor appointed by the NFL and NFLPA after he berated him during the 24-3 win over the New York Giants (1-3) Monday.
“First and foremost, I want to apologize to the OG,” Adams wrote on X. “You did everything right when you realized I was concussed. I apologize for any negative energy I brought your way. Watching the replay, I am thankful for your patience knowing I wasn’t myself in that moment. You’re a real one and you serve a great purpose that benefits the NFL and so many players. Prioritizing player’s health is essential. Much respect to you!”
Adams’ apology comes after Adam Schefter of ESPN reported the NFL is considering discipline against the 27-year-old for his actions on the sideline. Adams, who suffered a concussion just nine snaps into his season debut, yelled at the concussion doctor on the sideline after exiting the blue medical tent. Members of the Seahawks’ medical team had to hold Adams back before escorting him to the locker room.

On the opening drive of the game, Giants quarterback Daniel Jones attempted to scramble for the first down. Adams made the first down-stopping tackle but struggled to get back up to his feet and needed help getting off the field. The 27-year-old took a knee to the head and appeared dazed afterward.

Head coach Pete Carroll believes Adams should be good to go in Week 6 when Seattle returns from its bye.
“He got kicked in the head and so he misses this game, but the preparation to get him to this and then with the week coming off, he’s going to be fine, I’m sure, and then be back out there,” Carroll said Monday, via ESPN. “So it’s just a little glitch right now.”
Monday night was Adams’ first game back after tearing his left quadriceps tendon in last season’s opener. Adams, who missed just two games over three seasons with the New York Jets, has missed 28-of-54 possible regular season games since the Seahawks acquired him via trade in 2020.
