Seahawks teammates Derick Hall, Jarran Reed separated after sideline fight
Seattle Seahawks players Derick Hall and Jarran Reed got into an altercation on the sideline during the game against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. The incident came after Hall was called for a roughing the passer penalty in the first half.
When Hall and Reed were going at it, the Seahawks were trailing the Bills 7-3 late in the second quarter. The Seahawks entered the game after earning a 34-14 victory over the Atlanta Falcons last week and were looking to continue the momentum against the Bills team that has won their last two games.
Hall has put together a strong 2024 season after being drafted by the Seahawks in 2023. In the team’s first seven games, Hall has recorded 21 tackles, three tackles for loss, five tacks, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and one touchdown. He played college football at Auburn and was a two-time All-SEC selection.
Reed is also from the SEC as he was a First Team All-SEC selection and national champion at Alabama in 2015. He originally joined the Seahawks in 2016 when the team selected hi in the second round of the draft. Reed was with the Seahawks for five seasons before joining the Kansas City Chiefs in 2021 and the Green Bay Packers in 2022. The 31-year-old returned to Seattle in 2023 and tallied 54 tackles and seven sacks last year. Through seven games in 2024, Reed has notched 24 tackles and two sacks.

In September, Reed talked about playing for new Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald. “It’s been really good,” Reed said, per Yahoo Sports. “I say it all the time. I feel like he brought back old-school football. No shots or anything, but I feel like that’s been missing for a little bit. We’re bringing the physicality back. We bring the mentality back of playing grown men football for all four quarters.”
Before the start of the season, Macdonald talked about the improvement of Hall. “I’m glad that he’s improved his entire game as a football player,” Macdonald said, per Sports Illustrated. “You can play him all three downs. His fastball is power on the edge, so use it. It’s okay to do things that you’re good at and then have a changeup. People have all these moves these days off the edge and that’s good but there’s only so many that you’re going to be able to throw. We encourage guys to have their fastball [and] then have a changeup or two off of it.”
