The Buffalo Bills came out on top 27-25 on Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens in the 2025 AFC Divisional Game. It was yet another classic between two of the best teams in the league. Leading up to the game, a Baltimore radio host tabbed Buffalo as a ‘city of losers’. Following the win, Bills head coach Sean McDermott was quick to fire back.

Sean McDermott was quick to defend Buffalo

“It’s a city of winners. It really is. It’s a city of winners. These people and this town are winners. And I’ve been here just eight years. And I consider this my hometown. This place is different. And the people here are different. And they deserve more than whoever said that,” McDermott fired back.

McDermott guided the Bills back to a familiar place, the AFC Championship Game. They’ll face off against their rivals, the Kansas City Chiefs. They’ve been the most dominant dynasty in the league for several years now. And once again, the path to the 2025 Super Bowl runs through Kansas City and Arrowhead Stadium. Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid have been a rather unstoppable combination, winning the last two Super Bowls. Can they win a third? Buffalo will try to extinguish those hopes. This year’s game will be a rematch of last season’s AFC Divisional playoff game. The Chiefs won that one, 27-24.

This season, McDermott became the fifth coach in NFL history with five straight 11-win seasons. He joined Bill Belichick, Andy Reid, Tony Dungy, and Tom Landry.

The Ravens committed three turnovers in their 27-25 loss to the Bills. Of the three turnovers, Lamar Jackson committed two of them, an interception in the first quarter and a lost fumble in the second quarter which led to a touchdown for Buffalo. Tight end Mark Andrews also had a costly drop on a two-point conversion, which helped seal the win in the end for the Bills.

Buffalo quarterback Josh Allen completed 16 of 22 passes for 127 passing yards, while tossing in no touchdowns through the air. As a runner, he had 10 carries for 20 yards, including two touchdowns. Bills running back James Cook finished with 17 rushes for 67 yards. As a receiver, Cook hauled in three catches for 15 yards. Buffalo wideout Khalil Shakir also chipped in with six catches for 67 receiving yards.

Bills defensive end Von Miller had a crucial fumble return early in the second quarter that completely flipped the field for Buffalo. Bills safety Damar Hamlin also had eight tackles, two tackles for loss, a sack, and a fumble recovery. Their defensive unit stepped up big time on Sunday, carrying them back to the AFC Championship Game.

Buffalo and Kansas City will face off on Sunday, January 26th in the AFC Championship Game. Kick will be set for 6:30 PM EST. The game will be played in Kansas City at Arrowhead Stadium.
