Serena Williams came to Taylor Swift’s defense after the latter was met with a chorus of boos during Super Bowl LIX between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles.

Swift was supporting her boyfriend Travis Kelce in New Orleans when she was shown on the big screen inside the Caesars Superdome during the game. That’s when a large contingent of the stadium decided to boo.

Whether it was Eagles fans trying to make a statement, or indifferent NFL fans tired of Swift being all over their televisions during broadcasts, they made their voices heard, and the moment reverberated throughout social media.

Williams, who made a surprise appearance during Kendrick Lamar’s halftime performance, decided to let Swift know she still has immense love for the global superstar following the moment. She took to social media to deliver a message of positivity to Swift, trying to convince her not to listen to the unruly crowd.

“I love you [Taylor Swift] don’t listen to those booo!!” Williams posted on X following the moment, tagging Swift in the message, as well.

It was a nice message from Williams, and much different from the one that President Donald Trump, who was also in attendance, sent Swift. He made sure to point out how difficult it must be for Swift to stomach Kelce’s disappointing night, and the fans’ vitriol towards her in New Orleans.

He even took credit for it, claiming his supporters were “unforgiving” after she endorsed Kamala Harris during the election cycle.

“The only one that had a tougher night than the Kansas City Chiefs was Taylor Swift. She got BOOED out of the Stadium,” Trump posted on Truth Social. “MAGA is very unforgiving!”

Regardless, it’s easy to see why the comments from Trump and Williams regarding Swift have gained more traction than the game on the field following Super Bowl LIX. The Eagles won in a blowout, jumping out to a 34-0 lead and winning one of the more uncompetitive games in recent Super Bowl memory.

It was a shocking development, as the Chiefs were the best team in the NFL throughout the season. However, it’s evident Philadelphia was on their own crusade, looking to exorcise their demons from their loss on the biggest stage to Kansas City two seasons ago, that many felt like they should’ve won at the time.

Nevertheless, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce will be just fine, and the support of Serena Williams is a nice touch. While President Donald Trump and others take a victory lap following the Eagles’ win and the couple’s tough night, it’ll be fascinating to see how Kansas City bounces back next season.
