Seth Lundy explains his 'different' tattoo
Atlanta Hawks guard Seth Lundy has a tattoo on his arm with the simple phrase of “different.” The former Penn State star said there is a simple reason for the tattoo.
“I just feel like that I’m different,” Lundy said during the team’s introductory press conference for its draft picks. . “That’s part of reason why I got this tattoo. It’s a unique tattoo. Like no one else has this. I came up with this on my own. I had got number one because that was my number in college. I got the cross as my t because I’m religious and I always put God first in everything I do.”
Lundy was selected with the No. 46 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft by the Hawks. The 6-foot-6 wing played four seasons with the Nittany Lions, starting 96 of 122 games in his career.
He averaged 14.2 points and 6.3 rebounds per game while shooting 40.0% from 3-point range on 6.4 attempts per game.
His Penn State teammate Jalen Pickett was picked with the No. 32 overall selection in the draft by the Denver Nuggets.
“The feeling was surreal,” Lundy said of being drafted. “It’s just like a moment you dream of your whole life. You work so hard for this moment…A lot of sacrifices. To actually have that feeling, honestly, it’s the best day of my life. I’m looking forward to get to work and get better.”

Lundy makes up a three-person draft class for the Hawks along with former Michigan guard Kobe Bufkin and former Washington State forward Mouhamed Gueye.
Atlanta drafted Bufkin just outside the lottery at No. 15 and Gueye was the No. 39 selection with the Hawks trading with the Boston Celtics to acquire him.
All three are different players. Bufkin is a lead guard, Lundy is a wing and Gueye is a big.
They are joining a Hawks team that just traded one of its best players, John Collins, to the Utah Jazz for Rudy Gay and a future second round pick.
“Lundy is a solidly built wing with a smooth jumper who thrives in catch-and-shoot situations. He’s shown an ability to make tough jumpers with a hand in his face,” RotoWire’s evaluation of Lundy said. “He isn’t known for his defense, but he wasn’t a liability in college. While he can catch fire, he can sometimes be in his own world and not creating for others. Lundy finished his career at Penn State with 138 turnovers to 88 assists.”
