Shai Gilgeous-Alexander crosses Chris Livingston, makes him fall in Thunder vs. Bucks
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander showed no mercy on fellow Kentucky alumni Chris Livingston during the Oklahoma City Thursday’s game vs. the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday night.
SGA, who scored 30 points on 13 of 17 shooting in the first half, crossed up Livingston driving to the basket with a hard dribble behind his back. Livingston fell to the floor before Gilgeous-Alexander used the opportunity to score an easy basket at the rim.
Gilgeous-Alexander scored 21 of his 30 first-half points during the first quarter. The Thunder took a 78-44 lead into halftime.
For Livingston, he made the first start of his career for the Bucks on Monday night. He’s split time between the Bucks’ main roster and their G League affiliate, the Wisconsin Herd, during the first two seasons of his NBA career.
He recently scored a career-high 35 points for the Herd, which helped present this opportunity to the young forward. He also had nine rebounds and shot the ball at a 72 percent clip during that game, which came on Jan. 12.
SGA and Livingston are the only Kentucky alumni on either roster for OKC and Milwaukee but are far from the only former Wildcats in action across the NBA on Monday night.

De’Aaron Fox might not be available for the Spurs after being traded from the Sacramento Kings to San Antonio, but he’ll team up with fellow former Wildcat Keldon Johnson. The Spurs are in action vs. the Memphis Grizzlies on the road. Fox leaves behind two former Wildcats on the Kings in both Malik Monk and Trey Lyles, who entered the fourth quarter on Monday night in a closely contested battle with Rob Dillingham and the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Jamal Murray is also in action for the Denver Nuggets vs. the New Orleans Pelicans. Reed Sheppard and Karl-Anthony Towns did battle in Madison Square Garden in a matchup between the Houston Rockets and New York Knicks to round out BBNBA action for the night.
De’Aaron Fox honors wife, changes jersey number after trade
De’Aaron Fox will no longer wear No. 5 for his jersey number. Following the trade that sent him to the San Antonio Spurs, he’s switched to No. 4 since current guard Stephon Castle already wears the number.
However, he didn’t just choose No. 4 because it was the number closest to his old one. Instead, he’s honoring his wife, Recee, who is a native of the city and is the number she wore as a McDonald’s All-American during her playing days.
