Shane van Gisbergen announces seven-race Cup Series schedule with Kaulig Racing
We knew that Shane van Gisbergen would race seven Cup Series events this year, now we know they are all with Kaulig Racing. SVG is going to pilot the No. 16 car, which will be an “All-Star” car of sorts this season for the NASCAR Cup Series organization.
Kaulig Racing will have AJ Allmendinger, Josh Williams, van Gisbergen, and perhaps more in the No. 16 car this year. The seven races that SVG will be behind the wheel for are COTA, Talladega-1, Charlotte, Chicago Street, Watkins Glen, Talladega-2, and Las Vegas-2.
Of course, Trackhouse Racing has the rights to Shane van Gisbergen’s talents in NASCAR. He has a development deal with the team. This year, SVG will race the full Xfinity Series schedule with Kaulig and his part-time Cup schedule with them as well.
Van Gisbergen is “looking forward” to the opportunity with the 16 team.
Trackhouse Racing and Kaulig Racing are in an official alliance now. The two are intertwined, at least for the 2024 season, via SVG. Let’s not forget Spire Motorsports is hosting Zane Smith, another Trackhouse driver for the 2024 season as well.
No matter how he had to do it, Shane van Gisbergen wanted to race for Trackhouse.
“When I first started talking with Trackhouse about moving to the U.S., we had no idea how many races we could secure but I knew I wanted to be with that team and organization,” the driver said in a press release.
“There has been a lot of hard work to get to this point and I could not be happier to know that I get to race for an Xfinity Series championship and then get a proper go at the Cup Series on road courses and ovals.”
Shane van Gisbergen ready for busy 2024 season
At least 41 times this season, Shane van Gisbergen will take to the track in ARCA or NASCAR. Most of those races will come in the Xfinity Series as he battles for a championship in his rookie season.

To start the year, SVG will have to race both the ARCA and Xfinity Series season openers at Daytona. The ARCA race is a prerequisite for entering the Xfinity race. When Daytona is here, van Gisbergen is going to be thrown into the fire.
Justin Marks, founder and owner of Trackhouse Racing, knows the talent SVG has. He helped him display it to the world in his Cup Series debut at Chicago, which resulted in a win. Now, he’s ready to unleash the three-time Supercars champion on NASCAR in earnest.
“Shane is one of the best talents I’ve ever seen.” said Marks. “We know he will be competitive on the road courses, so we needed to challenge him and ourselves on oval tracks against Cup Series drivers. This is a big freshman season for Shane, and I really appreciate Matt Kaulig and Chris Rice for helping us bring this to life.”
Trackhouse and Kaulig are bringing Shane van Gisbergen to the American masses. They might just have the star of tomorrow in their cars.
