The Xfinity Series race winner is getting a different look of things. Shane van Gisbergen is spotting for Will Brown today. The NASCAR newcomer is helping his fellow Supercars talent in Brown’s debut.

Shane van Gisbergen will have a look at Turn 11 and the straightaway. The experience Shane has in Supercars and NASCAR will help him make smart decisions on the spotter stand. Kaulig Racing has a strong tie with Richard Childress Racing, so the partnership goes deeper than Supercars.

It appears that SVG is ready to help out his pal and put together a solid race from the spotter stand.

This is a big weekend for the NASCAR and Supercars relationship to continue to grow. Cam Waters is also in the race with RFK Racing. If anything, today will show just how impressive and awesome the Chicago Street Race win was for SVG last season.

Will Brown and Cam Waters are going to learn today. That is what this is more than anything, a learning experience. It is a long race for both of them and one where they aren’t familiar with the race track, either.

The Supercars takeover is just starting. Let’s see what these other drivers can do, one of them with Shane van Gisbergen in his ear.

Shane van Gisbergen making friends and enemies

There is a lot to like about Shane van Gisbergen. As a fan, he’s exciting to watch, he’s a new driver, and he does things others cannot. Apparently he gets under Austin Hill’s skin like no one else, either.

Since COTA, Hill and SVG have been back and forth with one another. Every time they are on the track next to each other they are getting into it. SVG and Hill continued their rivalry at Sonoma last night.

On a late restart, van Gisbergen showed that he is well aware of how NASCAR restarts go. You use someone else or you get used up. SVG put a hip check on Hill after being pushed to the grass and it was no looking back after that.

Shane van Gisbergen added insult to injury by doing his burnout/drift in front of Hill on the cool-down lap. It was a level of petty we haven’t seen since King Richard.
