Shannon Sharpe makes boldest anti-Skip Bayless statement yet with since-deleted tweet

It isn’t a secret that on-set rivalries can carry over into reality. Nonetheless, Shannon Sharpe may have taken this simple truth to a whole new level.
On Thursday, Shannon Sharpe liked a tweet from Dan Clark, a baseball reporter who has since deleted his account. The tweet was an attack pointed directly at Sharpe’s “Undisputed” co-host, Skip Bayless.
“Shannon Sharpe has outgrown Skip Bayless. He is far superior. He has a wonderfully bright future ahead. Bayless, meanwhile, won’t find another partner. His career will nosedive because he is a piece of sh*t.”
Is it hot in here, or is it just me? Evidently, Sharpe felt the heat. On May 31, Ryan Glasspiegel of the “New York Post” reported Sharpe and FS1 had reached a buyout to allow Sharpe to leave the network. Before the news had a chance to settle, fans began to post their takes to Twitter.

“End of an era,” one fan wrote.
“I would’ve understood this months ago when they were beefing… now? This caught me off guard! He seemed happy on set. I guess that’s just being the ultimate professional,” another user added.
Sharpe kissed professionalism goodbye when he liked Clark’s tweet. Then again, should we be that surprised? The FS1 pair beefed in January over Damar Hamlin’s injury. Sharpe took exception to Bayless’ hardened approach to the subject.
Although the pair seemingly made up, there’s been no shortage of quarrels. To make matters worse, Brett Favre sued Sharpe for comments he made on the show, claiming defamation.
Sharpe’s exit seemed inevitable. Now, fans might have an indication why.
