WATCH: Shaq makes ridiculous statement in fight over gas with Kenny Smith
Inside the NBA on TNT is one of the best pre/post-game shows out there, broadcasting NBA games on a weekly basis with Ernie Johnson hosting the show. Kenny Smith is one of the analysts alongside Charles Barkley and Shaq — the two that can provide a bunch of humor when discussing basketball.
However, a video recently resurfaced where it was Kenny Smith providing a hilarious moment, with him and Shaq discussing how to fill up a tank of gas. Smith was discussing how much he wanted to buy a new car but since a full tank of gas cost nearly $80, he did not think it would be worth it. Shaq argued if you never let the tank get empty and fill it when it’s around halfway, it will only cost $20.
Johnson became visibly frustrated with the two going back and forth, not being able to do anything but sit back and listen to argue. Barkley did not have much input on the discussion as Shaq and Smith continued to debate each other in a hilarious moment.
“I told him I didn’t want to get a certain vehicle because of the amount of gas I would have to spend,” Smith began. “It cost like $80 to fill it up.”
“When it gets to half, then you put $20 and it will bring it back to full,” Shaq argued.
The former viral clip is making the rounds again on social media. You can watch the full exchange here.

The original video was making rounds once again thanks to the crew bringing the debate up on a broadcast this week. Shaq doubled down on his stance, with Johnson and Smith still arguing against the NBA legend. Still, a hilarious moment between the crew.
You can watch the more recent argument below.
As usual, the best moments from Inside the NBA on TNT come when the crew is not discussing anything close to basketball. Despite being in the middle of a heated playoff race, in both the Eastern and Western Conference, the entire crew finds a way to veer away from the discussion and still make it entertaining.
Shaq has been with the show since the 2010-2011 season and has been delivering gems like this ever since. Hopefully, the two are able to work out as to who is right and Smith can decide if it’s worth buying his new car.
